There are so many different options out there where you can get started for $100. You can be up and running with an online store front for under $100. You can even start many home businesses for very low investments that are already setup and ready to pay you to share their product or opportunity. Meaning you could get going on something other than working for a boss to get capital, then turn around and start something even better.

Starting your own business, no matter how small it is, can almost every time bring you more income than any hourly job could once you get it rolling. Who cares if your business you started doesn't make you millions right off the bat. What if you just made as much as you do at your current job? But you were able to stay home or focus on your passion? Wouldn't that be a huge benefit?!

You have enough or can find enough

Honestly you don't want to be successful bad enough if you think you don't have enough money. These days, with all the resources online, you can do anything if you really want to. Get online figure out what someone in your area of interest needs. Give it to them. Have them exchange money for your knowledge or helpful product.

Borrow the money to get started, it will push you harder to succeed, simply because you need to pay them back. Don't let $100 stand in your way of your life's passion and dreams. Go make it happen. Figure out what's really important to you.

The most important thing is that you are prepared to serve. We misunderstand the value we truly have. I was talking to a friend of mine and he was struggling with a feeling of "I'm not doing what makes me happy but I need the money" type feeling. I told him look, "What do you love the most?" He told me and I said, "Master what you love, then demonstrate to others how to what you've mastered and charge them a fee." He was blown away. He's said he'd never thought of that before and it's so simple.

He then asked me how to demonstrate it to them. I told him, "All you need is a inexpensive HD camerea from Wal-Mart, a computer, and a website." He then begins to tell me he doesn't know how to build a website.

I was at that point shocked to truly realize that so many people don't value their ability. They don't understand that for less than a $100 you can be online with a website, hook it to social media, get a free PayPal account and sell a product.

My question for you is what are you passionate about? What do you love to do? Your life is leaving you day by day, moment by moment. When is a better time other than right now, to start building your dream and doing what you love?

I'm Mike Gowans and my whole purpose in life is to, inspire others to do what it is that inspires them. Come get inspired and visit me at my website Find and know what it is YOU want to do. Have love and passion for what YOU want to do. Believe in YOURSELF and what YOU want to do. Take relentless action on what YOU want to do.

I was recently asked what advice I'd give to startups. Here are nine (9) tips:

1. To take time to test the waters while working with market research on what services or products folks need, what they are willing to pay, who the ideal willing and able buyers are, your strategy to reach them.

2. To draft a business plan. The business plan should include your vision, mission, the products and services you are going to sell, your market research, your unique selling propositions, realistic sales forecasts, and realistic expenses. The goal is to use this business plan to guide your business growth over a period of 3 to 5 years.

3. To draft a separate marketing plan. The marketing plan should include affordable marketing options such as how you plan to use social media marketing tools. Social media marketing tools include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, EzineArticles, Hootsuite and Aweber.

4. To save money or get an investor to fund your outreach to prospective buyers.

5. To avoid using credit cards and taking out loans.

6. To learn how to set up systems: payroll, income tax, marketing and sales systems.

7. To not go it alone. Vet and hire trustworthy affiliate sales folks on commission and figure out a way to get admin assistance through bartering services, using student interns, or asking family members to help.

8. To be flexible and be willing to pivot. We have pivoted three (3) times. First, we earned six (6) figures helping land development clients. We pulled construction permits and handled zoning for big wheel land developers. That crashed in 2008. So, we pivoted drawing from many years of working for government agencies. We started teaching b2b clients how to get government contracts. We quickly realized that these small biz prospects do not pay enough to cover our expenses. So, we pivoted toward doing the same in front of larger audiences partnering with universities. Then, the federal govt shut down. Many, many business owners like me quit. But, we worked hard to build the company. So, as the firm's leader, I went back to school, got an Executive MBA and got into a Phd in Management program. We are now looking into building global partnerships and technology based targets related to university tech transfer research and technical assistance.

9. To learn how to figure out where the action is and to follow the money trail.

There are those who wish that things could be better for them and those who work hard to make sure that things are better for them. The only thing that separates both of these people is that one does something about what he wants and the other only thinks about what he wants. There are some daily habits that successful entrepreneurs have and if you follow them you can be sure that things will start to go on the right track for you.

The first thing that successful people and entrepreneurs have in common is that they are OK with failing and with seeing that as another step towards success. Successful people usually reflect on their mistakes and this way they avoid making the same mistakes over and over again. A very important key to success is to be able to analyze the reasons why you failed at something in order to change things to make sure their efforts are headed to a different direction from that point on. It's OK to fail more than once, but it's not OK to keep making the same mistakes again and again. This creates an endless and frustrating cycle that never ends.

Another daily habit of successful people is to be able to embrace and confront their fears every time they are faced with a situation that they are afraid to deal with. This could be anything from having to speak in public to joining a gym to get in better shape but being afraid of not looking good enough to be seen in a gym. These kinds of things might seem unimportant to some people, but they contribute greatly to how you handle everything else in your life.

You also need to learn to practice self-discipline on a daily basis if you want to be a successful person. If you have a bad habit that you need to quit, you should do it now and exercise your will power to get that done. The same goes for avoiding procrastination and getting more things done during the day. You should make sure that no fun is had until all the tasks of that day are completely done. Doing this is really going to enhance your results every single day and help you reach your goals much faster.

You need to understand the importance of getting enough sleep and remind yourself that the body will eventually shut down if you don't allow it to get at least 6 to 7 hours of sleep daily. Some people need at least 8 but a good 7 hours of sleep is a very good amount of time to spend resting. If you don't get enough rest you could end up with very serious health consequences in later in life and nothing is worth losing your health over it. You work hard to enjoy life not to pay medical bills for complications related to sleep deprivation.

Always be willing to help others and you will see how people will be more open to do business with you. The more you interact with others in a positive way, the more doors will be opened to you in life. It's always important to find ways to help others achieve more out of life and not only focus their efforts on their own goals and dreams. The more we contribute to create a better world, the more we will gain from this. A big part of happiness is linked to how much we give in life and how much we help others achieve their own dreams.

If you want success you need to go out there and earn it. This is the reason why most entrepreneurs are some of the busiest people you will ever meet. They understand that success is not something that comes from mediocre work and they know that you need to work very hard to achieve what you want in life. We are going to mention some of the most important things that productive entrepreneurs do every day in order to achieve their goals.

Being able to establish a routine when you are starting a business is very important and if you want to be able to make the most out of your say you have to come up with a good structure that will help you get the most out of each day. If you are always doing things at random hours of the day, you will never be able to achieve the productivity levels that you really need.

You need to find time to exercise as often as possible at least for 20 minutes. You should exercise five out of seven days a week at least. This is going to help you achieve a lot more during the day because your energy levels will be much higher and your general health will be improved tremendously. A healthy diet is also a very important thing to consider if you really want to achieve a better health.

Always check on your progress and make sure that every minute you spend working is going to help you reach your goals in one way or another. This is something that really helps people get the most out of their time because by analyzing if things are moving forward as they should, they can consider if they need to make any changes and if things need to be tweaked in any way. This is very important and every entrepreneur should think about it.

Always try to make some time to spend with your family. There is nothing more important than spending quality time with the people that you love and care for. Spending time with them will also remind you of the reason why you are fighting hard to accomplish more and this should be your priority. If you are still single, you should also dedicate some time to enjoying life and doing fun activities in order to recharge your batteries.

Learn to stick to a schedule and this way you will be able to get a lot more done every day. This is a very important thing that is very common for most successful people. You can't expect to make much happen if you don't have a good schedule of the things that you will be doing during the day. There will obviously be some unexpected things that can come up, but in most cases you should be able to keep things under control as far as how you manage your time.

If you follow this advice you should have no problems achieving much more in life. The most important thing is to always remember that you have to balance your entrepreneurial efforts with your efforts to keep your body and your mind healthy and to share some time with your loved ones too. Successful people always make the most out of their time in all kinds of activities that are beneficial to them. There has to be a balance that allows you to take some free time and feel renewed in order to start another day of hard work. You will get very positive results if you do all of these things.

Just a few short years ago anyone moving to online trading had either to learn HTML or appoint a professional.

Nowadays getting online has moved from being too difficult for IT amateurs to being too easy. It is not an exaggeration to say that an entrepreneur waking up at eight in the morning could, with a bare minimum of expenditure, have an online presence of sorts by twelve.

And here lies the problem.

A website is no more than a virtual store-front. An eBusiness is a business like any other. Behind that store front there needs to be a delivery process, the goods or services to be marketed through that store front, and an infrastructure to make everything work efficiently and profitably.

Even if you are only moving an existing business online you need a credible Business Case
The business case describes your reasons for going online: indeed going into business in the first place.

  1. It has to be 'outputs orientated' ie it says 'we will provide this product or that service' rather than 'we will use this or that resource';
  2. It has to explain how you will respond to the market, how you will control your Business Risk.
  3. How it fits with the rest of your business (if any);
  4. How you will track the costs (time and money) and how and when you will measure the results

Your business case must be transparent and comprehensive - not an exercise in self-delusion or self-justification, and if it has significant technical content it has to be comprehensible.

Moving an existing business onto the net is one thing, starting a new business targeting an online clientele is quite another.

The ease and speed with which a new commercial site can be set up from scratch disguises the fact that an online business is just that: a business that trades online. All the disciplines that need to be followed when setting up a bricks-and-mortar business are equally relevant when setting up an online one.

Once you have an acceptable business plan in place the time comes to decide between:

  1. The 'nerd's' approach of building as site from scratch
  2. Using a web designer
  3. Opening an account with one of the many providers of commercial sites
  4. Using a CMS to build an online community site.

Here on we do not deal with the first two options, valid though they are.

We do however suggest that the new online entrepreneur consider options 3 and 4 seriously. Both are simple enough for a non-it-specialist to be able to get up and running in a few days once the various options within your choice have been explored. A search of the internet will provide alternatives enough, and whichever way you go there are a couple of really critical questions to ask of the package you eventually choose:

  • What will your site look like
  • On a lap or desk top
  • On a smart-phone
  • On a tablet.
  • How will it interface with, or provide
  • Your accounting package
  • Your order management software.

When you're considering a CMS system you'll have to consider the additional modules available with the core software to make that assessment.

In most cases the decision will focus on one of the commercial providers though a CMS may be more suitable for:

  • A niche marketer
  • Clubs and associations
  • Some professional service providers.

In any case going online is not a simple yes/no decision. Many factors come into play and a few hours researching the options can be time well spent.

Just as an aside there is a natural compromise to be made between 'user friendliness' and the capacities of a package. Easy at the onset can mean limited at a later stage!

There is certainly no one-size fits all solution when it comes to commercial websites., if there was there would be no commercially viable options for us to choose from. Our Get Online section helps you jump the hurdles.
Here in we recognise 3 different scenarios of new on-line businesses:

Existing businesses entering the on-line business environment to extend their existing Clientele

New businesses looking to combine a bricks-and-mortar business with on-line trading

New Start on-line only traders.

Whichever model fits your trading pattern you need to consider your on-line presence as a business on its own with a proper business plan and marketing strategy

Nearly everyone I know wants to go into business for themselves. All well and good! Many of these small business owners soon realize that no one can stay in business for any appreciable length of time if they are unable to market their goods and services effectively. That is the singular reason many smart business persons always want to know how to market their products and services effectively and efficiently. There is hardly any entrepreneur who would want to start a business without profit-making in mind. You can only make a profit if you can effectively and efficiently sell your goods and services. Your ability to place your goods and services before people to enable them know what you have to offer determines how much you can sell. That is marketing. People will never know what you have to offer unless you can market your products or services satisfactorily. If you are a small player in the business world, here are some strategies you can use to effectively market your products and services.

1. Know your product/service and your business. Perhaps your most effective selling point is to know the product/service you are selling. That is what largely defines the business you are in. If you do not know the business you are in, you can not convince anyone to do business with you.

2. Know yourself. If you do not know yourself very well, it could be very difficult for you to know what you are capable of doing to meet deadlines, product volume and quality as well as making/keeping appointments and schedules. Knowing yourself is a very important strategy in your marketing efforts.

3. Know what sells. Like the saying goes, "everyone is in it for the money." It is what sells that will make money for you. The more of it you are able to sell, the more money you make. That is why you must always make deliberate efforts to put in the market place what people want and are ready to pay for.

4. Understand the market. If you do not understand your niche market and how it operates, you find it difficult to effectively take part in it. It is not a waste of time to make efforts to study and understand the market you want to sell your product/service in before going into it. Once you know the market and what sells in it, then it will be easier for you to market your product/services if you designed them with the market in mind.

5. Know your customers. Always try to make deliberate efforts to care for your customers' needs. That is why you must know your customers and their needs. Satisfying your customers is exactly what keeps you in business. If you are unable to do so, sooner than you expected, you will find yourself out of business.

6. Know your competitors. It is a very smart business advice never to ignore your competitors. The reason is very simple. You and your competitors are literally "fishing in the same waters." Your pains and your gains are largely similar to those of your competitors. If you know them well enough, it becomes easier for you to avoid their marketing pitfalls and setbacks. If you can research your competitors to know their strengths and weaknesses, the results can help to strengthen your own marketing efforts.

7. Bank on hope. When you have hope in abundance, things can always turn out the best for you on the long run. No one has any magic wand to make sales in any market. It is only the people who hope for the best always then do things deliberately to fulfill such hopes and expectations who eventually emerge winners at the end of the day. Be hopeful. That is where the future lies in a highly competitive market place.

As a small business owner, if you can understand these simple strategies and how they work, it is possible to market your products/services very well in spite of competition. You can not avoid competition anyway. All you need is the ability to get things done and to meet your set goals and aims in spite of the competition. That is exactly where these 7 strategies come in very handy.

If you do not like to talk, are an introvert or just plain shy, you can still be an awesome entrepreneur. Studies show that almost half of the world's population are introverts.

Make your personality speak for you, find great employees who can talk for you, and let these employees run with your brilliant ideas, under your tutelage, of course. It is a proven fact that introverts present better team environments than their more extroverted partners.

Tips for Pubic Speaking for Introverts

    1. List your strengths. You may not like to talk, but your ideas and descriptions are very together and make better impressions. Introverts tend to study the long term picture. Research points to more neuronal activity in the brain linked to motor control in introverts. Introverts strategize and think through issues rather than speaking off the cuff. Introverts are known to be listeners. Listening distinguishes leaders from the rest of the pack. If you listen, you learn, gain respect and advance.
    1. You must communicate even if you feel sick and faint when in uncomfortable situations or speaking in front of a large crowd. Compensate for your weaknesses by learning tips and tricks for public speaking. Take classes and seminars on public speaking. The old saying, "pretend your audience is in their underwear" is silly, but visualization does work. You do not have to be the life of the party or even the funny man at the podium. Charisma is often overrated and knowledge and capability can rule. Even introverts can use personality to make a point.
    1. Utilize technology. The ability to use PowerPoint when making presentations is a great crutch for introverts. Speak at webinars where you do not need to look at anyone and use computer management systems to interact with people. Software can be your voice. Get your point across by using social media. Be the ghost writer behind the spoken word if it is more comfortable for you.
  1. Take a deep breath and dive in if you are required to make phone calls. It is difficult for an introvert to start a cold call conversation. You may need an intermediary to help with this situation. Find a time when you are feeling comfortable and energized. Be enthusiastic and don't panic.

You cannot develop a successful business without good social skills. Connecting with others is essential to hiring a support system, selling your ideas to investors, and building your business.

Making important decision is one of the toughest things to do in life. Brendan Francis observed, "Some persons are very decisive when it comes to avoiding decisions." When you look at some successful people, you may wonder how they can come up with a right decision. What are their "secrets" in the decision-making process? After performing an intensive research on the decision making topic in both theoretical and practical aspects, we discovered that the secrets are very simple: Activeness, Balance, and Checking, or the "ABC" secrets for short. So, what exactly are "Activeness", "Balance", and "Checking" in the context of decision making topic?

A. Activeness

You have to be active to engage in a long and possibly difficult decision making process. In many cases, you think the issue you have to decide on is too complicated to understand and make a choice. It may be hard or time-consuming to collect enough useful and reliable data or information. In the other extreme, you may be swamped with too much (possibly conflicting) information and opinions about many alternatives. You may be afraid that you have to take a risk to choose an alternative. Therefore, you become passive in the decision making process. You simply "close your eyes" and follow in other people's steps (this may happen when you go to buy a car at a dealer).

The reason you have to be active is that you are the one who will take responsibilities and effects of your final choice. You cannot blame other people that they have told you to make a wrong choice. Attitude is important. You cannot say, "This issue is too hard to decide. I don't know what I'll do now." So remember the proverb, "Where there is a will, there is a way." If you have an active mindset to resolve the issue, eventually you will find the solution. Particularly in the decision making realm, you must have some determination to face certain difficulties. You must spend time and effort when specifying the features you want, searching for alternatives, comparing them, making a short list, and finally selecting the final choice. If you follow those steps properly by actively thinking, planning and carrying out the plan instead of passively relying on other people (for instance, the seller), then you will finally get the right choice with confidence.

B. Balance

There are three aspects of balance.

The first aspect is to balance between different expected features. Don't let yourself get too attached to one alternative. For instance, you may choose one candidate because of only one feature you like most, but you'll forget about other attributes which may be even more important and have long-term value or effect than the one you like.

The second aspect is to balance between the time you spend for steps of decision making process. Some people spend too little time to define the features and values of the alternative. In other words, they do not know what they actually need. They might choose an unreasonable candidate for their purpose. Other people may spend too much time to search for many alternatives and get overwhelmed with too much information as well as many conflicting customer reviews. Time passes and they start losing their direction. They may come up with an improper candidate just because the deadline to make the decision has almost arrived. For instance, this case may happen with some couples who have a high demand to find a good restaurant for their wedding reception. The lesson is, to balance between the time you spend for the steps of decision making process, you should create a good plan to give yourself proper durations for each of the steps, along with some extra time. Don't forget the idiom, "Rome wasn't built in a day."

The third aspect is to balance between your rational analysis and instincts, or gut feeling. Some people are the type of person who relies on logical thinking based on data, information, formulas, and so on. If that applies to you, before you make a decision, you should turn down your "rational machine" for a while then listen to the "voice" from your intuition. Reversely, if you tend to decide things based on your feeling, you should do some exercise with rational analysis to see the other side of your decision issue.

C: Checking

You should check other available, similar alternatives from other brands, manufactures, sellers or service providers. It is also worth checking other sources to see whether that is a good time to make the decision, or if it would be better to postpone the action, for instance, waiting for the price to go down more or if there is a new version of the product coming soon.

You should check your collected information with advice, opinions from other reliable people such as family members, friends, colleagues, etc.

Even when you're ready to choose the final candidate, you should check again whether that alternative has some hidden, undiscovered weaknesses, faults or extra costs. Don't make your final choice too fast. "Haste makes waste." You need to "pause" yourself for a moment to double-check everything carefully as the practice of a master carpenter, "Measure Twice, Cut Once."

In summary, the three secrets to make the right decision are Activeness, Balance, and Checking. Activeness means you should be active in finding the expected features and alternatives for your choice. Balance refers to the balancing between different aspects. And Checking reminds you to check again your collected information, timing, and hidden costs.

When it comes to attracting a huge traffic to a website, the two things that matter the most are graphics and content. Where the graphics should be appealing and out of the box, the content should be outstanding too.

It is easy to create content and get it published waiting for the traffic to come to the website. But, what is actually needed to be done is creation of a valuable content. Since, the content by itself cannot make the readers engaged with a website. What matters the most to convert visitors into paid clients is the value of content to make visitors read it and visit the website again. However, this is toughest task, since it's not easy to write content with such perfection that the reader reads the same, share it and later, even discusses about it. But, at the same time, it is essential too.

It is a must for an entrepreneur to realize an increased conversion rate, which is a term given to the visits that do not just include going through or navigate a website, but acting beyond the same. This is generally witnessed after requests from advertisers or may be content creators. For higher conversion rates, one needs to take care of content marketing. And most of the people realize failure of their blog or website due to the same.

So, it is very much clear that you need to focus on what you are writing and if it is being marketed properly. Well, but the question that now arises is "how"? And let me tell you, it's not child's play, but it's still simple. If you pay attention to what you like to read on others' blogs or websites or magazines, you will be able to judge what your readers want.

Remember, the last time you browsed a magazine or website and skipped a page. Why?

While fast-browsing a book or anything-related, you go through the headlines given to different topics. If they fail to attract you, you skip it and move on to the next page or article. This is what will/may happen to your visitors as well. Before they could move on to the inside content, the headline created by you should be catchy enough. If you fail to do so along with an intro that tells the story in brief, no one would like to read it further (no matter how hard it was or how good the content therein).

Let me give you a few tips to make your headline compelling and engaging.

  • First of all, use List-oriented or "How to" kinds of headlines. These gather the most traffic as these are the most searched items.
  • Make it crisp and small to ensure it is interesting as well as a way to get read the content ahead.
  • Rather than a detail-oriented headline, keep it fact-oriented. Facts are more looked for.
  • Focus on what people want and not what the search engines want.
  • Emotions are what connect a human to another. If it is possible, fill emotions in your headline and it will attract maximum number of readers.
  • Generate curiosity as a majority of all people are born curious to learn new things. Leaving the audience to think through the headline can be magical.

After you ensure your article has an appropriate headline/title, make your way further to legible content i.e. content that has value, information, experience, and style. Never ever forget that your content will be read by a layman as well as an expert. Make it such that the vocabulary is superb to be read by the expert, while it is simple enough to be understood by the common man.

While writing the content, do not let laziness hold you back from writing enough. Pen down your insight enough to make your website rich with content. Since, a website full of valuable content is most visited and is even preferred by leading search engines like Google and Bing.

Running your own store is a difficult job. It is also very rewarding, which is why some people choose to accept the challenge. A bakery, however, is different from most shops and stores. How do you find out if owning and running a bakery is right for you? Let's look at some questions you should ask yourself before starting a bakery. Also, we'll highlight some things to consider.

Test Yourself: Is A Bakery Right For You?

It's important to know your strengths and weaknesses before starting a bakery. Have a look at these statements:

  • I like talking to people.
  • I understand food and I like bakery products and baking.
  • I understand what people want.
  • I can adapt to changes in people's habits.
  • I'm creative.
  • I can motivate people and be a leader.
  • I'm good at keeping things clean.
  • I don't mind working when other people have off.
  • I can live with a changing income.
  • My family approves of the idea.
  • I'm good at planning and organizing.

If your response to most of these statements is a solid "absolutely" or "that's me" then you should continue with your plans of starting a bakery.

How are you going to start?

There are different approaches you can take when starting a bakery business. You can buy an existing store. This way you can get started faster since you're buying an established business. You'll get all the machines, tools and premises. Also, the customers will most likely already know you. Another option is to join a franchise. It's not the most common way to start a bakery, but it does come with certain advantages: You can start your business with a solid brand behind you and you may receive tools and training that you need to run your bakery. The third option is to build your business from scratch. This is probably the most rewarding way of creating your business because you get to influence all decisions right from the beginning. You get to decide everything, unlike with a franchise, but mistakes could be expensive and the learning curve may be steep.

Stand Out From The Crowd

In any industry with competitors it's important to stand out. This is true for bakeries as well. Ask yourself how your shop will offer something different from other bakeries. Why will customers choose your bakery over the one around the corner? These days bakeries sell other things than bread. Consider selling sandwiches when the morning rush is over and specialize in desserts, coffee or tea. There are many ways to stand out. You can also offer special take-away options for your busy customers.

Location Is Everything

Alright, maybe location is not everything, but location is very important for a bakery. You need to study the surroundings before deciding on a location. Is the area full of people? Do people take their time to look at shops? Is it a nice area? Who live and work in the area? It's also a good idea to look at what other shops are in the area. Other specialty shops in the area like a butchers and a greengrocer could be an advantage to your shop.
